The Studies in Biblical Literature series published mature scholarly investigations pertaining to the biblical literature and its cultural environment. Volumes may be intended either for the general reader or for the biblical scholar and may focus on biblical or theological themes, literary aspects of the biblical literature, the social world of the biblical writings, historical issues, or other comparable areas of study.
Studies in Biblical Literature continued the earlier SBL Monograph Series.
