Annual Meetings 2013 is the largest gathering of
scholars interested in the study of religion in
the world. Each meeting showcases the latest in related research, fosters
collegial contacts, and focuses on issues of the profession. One of the world's
largest exhibits of books and digital resources for biblical studies is on
display at the congress. At this meeting, scholars benefit from sessions on
religion, philosophy, ethics, and diverse religious traditions.

Registration for the SBL Annual Meeting is now open! SBL Members qualify for special registration rates.
Special rates at area hotels are also available at over two dozen hotels in the Baltimore area. You must be registered for the SBL Annual Meeting before arranging housing.

Additional Meetings is the name given to
evens scheduled separately from the AAR and SBL programs. Examples of Additional Meetings include
receptions, editorial board and business meetings, and breakfast and lunch gatherings. To register your additional meeting by fax or

Jewish sabbath meals and services will be available at nearby Congregation B'nai Israel, a short walk from the conference center and most hotels. Advanced reservation and pre-payment is required for meals; please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. Friday dinner will be followed by a panel discussion on the interplay between academic Biblical studies/archaeology and religious tradition.

Toiletry Donation Drive
This is our first year facilitating a toiletry donation
drive and we need your help! During the SBL Annual Meeting please bring
your unused hotel soaps, shampoos, conditioners, and any other products that
families and homeless in need might find useful. There will be a container
located in the registration area in the Baltimore Convention Center, Charles
Street Lobby, where you may drop off your new items for donation. The
donations will be given to the Assistance Center of Towson Churches (www.actconline.info) which provides
emergency food, clothing, shelter, toiletries, and financial help for those in
need. Your items will primarily go towards family holiday gift bags and
bundles for homeless people. The ACTC is a consortium of 48 churches who
participate in the outreach effort and provides assistance to the greater
central Baltimore County area. Thanks for your help!
