Soon after my software review of Bookends on the SBL Forum, a major update was released by Sonny Software, in partial response to my review as well as suggestions on the Bookends forum. Bookends 9's most important improvement is the addition of twelve new information fields, bringing the total to thirty. The latest version also introduced new formatting characters which have increased Bookends formatting abilities. Users can also now display Amazon cover pictures in the List view. Several feature requests from my review have yet to be implemented; nonetheless, the latest release of Bookends has addressed the most important shortcoming (number of fields) and has made a great product even better.
