Recently the Society of Biblical Literature has added another feather in its cap-associate membership in the AAUP. An invitation-only process, SBL publishing staff submitted detailed information about SBL's publishing program in order to be accepted (after a 10 month evaluation process) among the few associate members in the AAUP.

Membership in the AAUP will bring important training and professional resources for the SBL publishing staff as well as discounts in advertising and promotion, increased distribution for SBL books in AAUP catalogs and library mailings, as well as through AAUP exhibit booths at meetings.

In turn, SBL's membership in the AAUP will help SBL authors gain the exposure and readership they desire in academic markets, and beyond.
