Amy L. Balogh, Ph.D., is Lead Lecturer of the Humanities at the Regis University School for Professional Advancement where she teaches a wide-variety of religion and humanities courses, including courses on myth, Judaism, Christianity, and comparative religions. Dr. Balogh’s research focuses on comparative and ecological readings of biblical and other ancient Near Eastern texts, with a recent focus on the different ways that religion moderates our species’ relationship with nature. Her first book, Moses among the Idols: Mediators of the Divine in the Ancient Near East, was published with Lexington Books / Fortress Press in 2018. She is currently working on a second book that compares the characters of Moses and Elijah with respect to their relationships to nature.
