Call For Papers: Theme for 2010: "The Strings of King David's Life" From David's anointment as a king till the episode in the chamber in the king's palace in Jerusalem, the narrator attempts to present a story--complicated life of a king in Israel. It is a story about an unknown person who ascended through a bloody road to the throne. To make sure his dynasty will be in control over Israel. The storyteller dose not hesitate to introduce stories of murder, jealousy and sex. The biblical storyteller present the king with all his faults and at the same time he also accentuates his greatness and humility. Yet, in late literary works of the other two traditions, Christianity and Islam these stories are dismissed and instead, the piety and the wisdom of the king are emphasized. David of the biblical story is different from the one describes in post biblical writings. these literary works moved him from any association with murder and jealousy and made him the hope for the future peace and tranquility for all humanity.
