The Ithaka S+R US Faculty Survey has tracked the changing research, teaching, and publishing practices of higher education faculty members on a triennial basis since 2000. Our aim in this project is to provide actionable findings and analysis to help colleges and universities as well as relevant support services, such as academic libraries, learned societies, and scholarly publishers, plan for the future.

Employment Center Candidate Registration Now Open

Candidate registration for the Employment Center has been reset for the 2019 Annual Meeting and is now open. After registering for the Annual Meeting, visit Employment Services to register as a candidate at no charge. When employers begin to post the positions for which they are interviewing at the Annual Meeting, you will be able to access those listings along with regular job postings. Registered candidates can also upload CVs to be viewed by employers. If you registered before May 16th, 2019, you will need to re-register to utilize the 2019 Employment Center and upload your CV again.

This year the meeting will be hosted by the Pontifical Biblical Institute and the Pontifical Gregorian University and sponsored by Baylor University Press, Columbia Theological Seminary, and the Nida Institute for Biblical Scholarship.

Application for New International Meeting Program Units

The International Meeting Program Committee (IMPC) invites you to submit ideas for new program units by September 1. The IMPC reviews program unit proposals and renewals and evaluates the distribution of topics and sessions among program units. Proposals will be reviewed by the IMPC within the month. More information can be found here, including the criteria for review of proposals and the application form.

Congratulations to the 2019 Award Recipients

The 2019 A. R. Pete Diamond Award for Integrative Scholarship has been awarded to Lora Walsh for her paper entitled, “Lost in Revision: Gender Symbolism in Vision 3 and Similitude 9 of The Shepherd of Hermas.”

The 2019 David Noel Freedman Award for Excellence and Creativity in Hebrew Bible Scholarship has been awarded to Andrew Perrin for his paper entitled, “Danielic Pseudepigraphy in/and the Hebrew Scriptures? Remodeling the Structure and Scope of Daniel Traditions at Qumran.” 

The 2019 Paul J. Achtemeier Award for New Testament Scholarship has been awarded to Michael P. Theophilos for his paper entitled, “ΒΑΣΙΛΕΥΣ ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΝ (Rev 17.14; 19.16) in Light of the Numismatic Record.”
