Internation Congress of Biblical Studies in Buenos Aires
On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Revista Biblica, the ABA (Asociacion Biblica Argentina) has organized an International Congress of Biblical Studies which will take place in Buenos Aires.
Theta Alpha Kappa
The National Board of Directors of Theta Alpha Kappa invites entries for the 2019 Albert Clark Award, given annually for the best papers in religious studies or theology, as judged by a panel established by the Board. Undergraduate and graduates students who are members of Theta Alpha Kappa are encouraged to review competition guidelines and eligibility requirements found on their website (http://thetaalphakappa.org/). The submission deadline is:
January 25, 2019.

Migration and Border Crossings
Columbia Theological Seminary and Emory University's Center for the Study of Law and Religion are co-hosting a multidisciplinary conference, "Migration and Border Crossings," February 7-9, with several partners, including the Forum for Theological Exploration (FTE), the World Council of Churches, the Council on American-Islamic Relations and the Presbyterian Church (USA). The conference will bring together leading theologians, legal scholars, activists and artists for conversations about responding to the movement of peoples and borders. Juan Felipe Herrera, U.S. Poet Laureate from 2015-17, and Emilie Townes, the Dean of Vanderbilt Divinity School, will give keynote addresses.

The National Endowment for the Humanities has awarded Jeffrey Miller of Montclair State University $60,000 for his project Drafting the King James Bible: The Earliest Known Draft of the Most Enduring English Translation. Miller will be completing a work on his discovery of a fragment of the King James Bible, composed in the hand of Samuel Ward.It is the earliest draft of the King James Bible known to survive.
This latest round of grants underscores the National Endowment for the Humanitiesís crucial role in preserving our nation's cultural heritage, funding the work 56 state humanities councils, and supporting cutting-edge digital humanities projects. Collectively, NEH grants provide access to the humanities in every state and territory.
