Fellowship for a Research Assistant at the Institute for New Testament Textual Research

The American Bible Society and the German Bible Society are awarding a post-doc research assistant at the Institute for New Testament Textual Research in Münster, Germany. The fellowship covers a period of 36 months, a fixed three-year appointment, beginning 1 July 2014. Call for submissions for the Walter de Gruyter Prize for Biblical Studies and Reception History 2014 Award

In partnership with the Society for Biblical Literature, De Gruyter has established the “Prize for Biblical Studies and Reception History” to support biblical scholars at the early stages of their careers. De Gruyter will support this award with an annual cash prize of $1,500 for the best recent (last two calendar years) unpublished dissertation or first monograph in biblical studies, with special attention to submissions in the field of reception history. Winning manuscripts will be published in appropriate De Gruyter book series or, if no appropriate series exists, as stand-alone titles. For submission details and deadline, please click here.

The Call for Papers for Annual Meeting 2014 opens tomorrow, Friday 20 December and wiil be open until 5 March 2014.

Annual Meeting Video Conferencing to ICI Countries

Six sessions from the Baltimore meeting were made available to groups in Bolivia, Brazil, Egypt, Ghana, India, Nigeria, Peru, Poland, South Africa, and Ukraine via Webex videoconferencing. SBL will build on this experience as we strive to use this and other means to encourage dialogue with scholars and students who cannot attend the Annual Meeting.
