Register now for the 2013 SBL International Meeting in St. Andrews, Scotland! The online program is available, so check your schedule and book your travel. Please note that all participants must be registered by May 1. As you know, the International Meeting provides a unique forum for biblical studies and related disciplines. Program units span Archaeology and Material Culture, the Arts, Law, Dead Sea Scrolls and Qumran, Early Judaism and Early Christianity, Hebrew Bible and Ancient Near East, Hermeneutics, Theory and Identity, the Historical Jesus and Extra Canonical Literature, the History of Interpretation, Language and Linguistic Studies, Paul and Pauline Literature, Translation, Textual Criticism and Manuscripts, and Theology and Theological Approaches.

We are pleased to announce that we have partnered with the University of St. Andrews to provide dormitory accommodations within the University for only 59 pounds per night. Information about these accommodations, as well as transportation options, are available on the International Meeting website.

For the Annual Meetings 2013, we are in the process of finalizing session details and will commence drafting a schedule shortly. If you have proposed a paper, be sure that you are familiar with the requirements of participation, including the requirement to be registered no later than June 1. Registration information will be available shortly through the Annual Meetings page. Special sessions and workshops in planning will be of wide interest to members, covering topics such as alternative academic careers; art and religion at the Walters Museum; the Bible and television; commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation; course design; Jewish concepts of scripture; methods in the analytical study of religion; and religion, conflict, and democracy in modern Africa.

Please note that the Annual Meeting program schedule will not be available until June 1. Attendee registration and housing for the Annual Meetings 2013 is available on the Annual Meetings page.

The conference aims to study the movement of nomads and their settlements in the Syrian Orient; and it will pay a special attention to the migration of Arab nomads from the Arabian Peninsula to the Fertile Crescent in the pre-Islamic period.
