The Society of Biblical Literature and Brill Academic Publishers are pleased to announce a co-publication agreement. Effective immediately, SBL will shift its book publication program exclusively to paperback editions, and Brill will simultaneously publish hardback editions of all SBL titles.

This new partnership will boost the sales of SBL titles in Europe and around the world and give SBL titles the added marketing muscle of a first-class European publisher.

The SBL-Brill agreement is unique in scholarly publishing as it redraws the traditional territorial lines between North American and European publishers. Both institutional and individual customers anywhere in the world may now purchase SBL titles either in paperback editions from SBL or in hardback editions from Brill. This arrangement allows the Society's increasingly international membership greater access to SBL scholarly resources. Brill and SBL have agreed that their catalogs, space ads, and other promotional materials will clearly indicate the availability of both editions.
