SBL and Sheffield Phoenix PressVolumes published by Sheffield Phoenix Press (SPP) will soon be more readily accessible to SBL customers, thanks to a recently signed agreement naming the SBL as SPP's exclusive North American distributor. As a result of this arrangement, North American customers have more options for securing SPP titles than ever before: in addition to being able to order or purchase SPP books through a favorite bookseller, scholars and students will be able to purchase any SPP title directly from the SBL at the same price listed on the SPP website (http://www.sheffieldphoenix.com/title.asp ). Because the SBL will maintain an inventory of all SPP titles, buyers will no longer need to face the added costs and frequent delays of overseas shipping. In addition, since the SBL will represent SPP titles at various North American meetings, attendees will be able to examine (and purchase) SPP books much more regularly and frequently than has been the case in the past. Finally, SPP will also represent SBL books at various U.K. and European conferences, which will make SBL titles more accessible to our colleagues overseas.
The SBL is delighted to form this partnership with Sheffield Phoenix Press, a relatively young publishing house with a rich publishing pedigree, continuing as it does the best traditions of academic publishing from Sheffield. We look forward to working alongside SPP's Publishers David J. A. Clines, J. Cheryl Exum, and Keith W. Whitelam and General Manager Ailsa Parkin to make SPP's many fine volumes as widely available as possible. Look for a further announcement sometime in the near future when the SBL is ready to begin taking orders for SPP books—as well as additional emails acquainting SBL members with all of SPP's excellent works.
For additional information, please feel free to contact Ailsa Parkin or Bob Buller of the SBL.
