David Casson is a doctoral student in Hebrew Bible at Emory University. He has a B.A. in European History from Colorado College and an M.Div degree from Princeton Theological Seminary. David also studied in New College, University of Edinburgh under a yearlong graduate fellowship. He has served as an adjunct instructor at Emory University and at Columbia Theological Seminary. His research interests include the theological rhetoric of Israel's sixth-century prophets and their place in the religious and social institutions of their time. His paper, "When Israel Loses its Meaning: The Reconstitution of Language and Community in Ezekiel's Prophecy" reads the prophet's rhetoric through questions borrowed from legal scholar James Boyd White. It was presented at the Southeast Regional SBL meeting in Atlanta, Georgia.
